April Is Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Started in 1983, this month is meant to increase public awareness of the need to ensure the safety and welfare of our children.

At Our Kids, that means educating as many people as possible about how to recognize child sexual abuse, as well as how to talk to children about it.

Visit the Learning section of our website to find out more.

You can also follow us on Facebook for information about how to recognize, report and cope with child sexual abuse.

And remember: In Tennessee, if you know or suspect that a child has been or is being abused, you must report your concerns to the Department of Children’s Services at 1-877-237-0004.
