Leanna Dugan

Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Leanna Dugan has been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2009. She spent many years practicing in pediatric primary care before further specializing in the field of child sexual abuse. She joined Our Kids in 2017. Since that time, she has performed over 1,000 pediatric forensic medical examinations. She participates in a robust peer review process and provides expert testimony.  As an adjunct professor with the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Leanna provides guest lectures for nurse practitioner students. She presents regularly about topics related to child sexual abuse, including at national and local conferences, to members of sexual abuse multidisciplinary teams and at quarterly training for the Davidson County Grand Jury.

Leanna completed her B.A. in Psychology at Pepperdine University in 2006 and went on to complete her nursing training at Vanderbilt University. She received her M.S.N. as a pediatric nurse practitioner in 2009 and is certified as a PNP by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is a member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and is an IAFN certified Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.
