If you have concerns about the safety or well-being of a child, you are legally required to call the Tennessee Child Abuse Hotline to report them: 1-877-237-0004. This 24-hour reporting line is run by the Department of Children’s Services (DCS).

A concern is all you need

You do not have to have evidence, or to be certain something is happening — you must simply have a concern. Failure to report abuse is a violation of the law and a Class A misdemeanor. The reporter has the right to remain confidential and anonymous.

Police

You can also contact your local police department. In Nashville, call the Metro Nashville Police Department: 615-862-8600.

Our Kids

If you have questions for Our Kids, call 615-341-4911 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Any hours outside of those, call Nashville General Hospital at 615-341-4000 and ask to speak to the Our Kids clinical staff on call.

Non-emergent reports to DCS can be made here.
