Our Kids Announces the Planned Giving Program

Our Kids’ contributors are committed to making sure our services will always be available for Middle Tennessee’s most vulnerable children. Because ongoing commitment is so important to our supporters, Our Kids is pleased to announce the creation of the Planned Giving Program. This program embraces several unique avenues of giving and allows individuals to personalize their continued pledge to Our Kids. Participants in the Planned Giving Program will be recognized as founding members of the Champions’ Circle and will be recognized in the newsletter, on the website and with membership in Sophie’s Society (unless the donor prefers to remain anonymous).

Founded in 1987, Our Kids has become a recognized expert in the area of child sexual abuse. The unique Our Kids model features a multidisciplinary team of nurse practitioners and social workers who provide forensic medical evaluations and crisis counseling in response to child sexual abuse. During its history, Our Kids has provided expert compassionate care to over 19,000 children in Middle Tennessee.

“Child sexual abuse is a tragedy that effects every type of family from every part of our community,” says Maxine Bivins, co-founder and lifelong supporter of Our Kids.

“I am helping establish the Our Kids Planned Giving Program because I want to make sure that Our Kids’ expert, compassionate care is always there for the children and caregivers who are struggling and need these services.”

“Our Kids is my passion,” says Maxine. “I am proud to say that three generations of my family are active supporters of Our Kids.”

Over its nearly 25-year history, thousands of donors and volunteers have supported the essential activities of the Our Kids. Our Kids has also responded to the unmet needs of children in rural, underserved areas of Middle Tennessee by establishing four satellite clinics located in Cookeville, Lawrenceburg, Clarksville and Manchester. In addition, Our Kids consistently conducts and publishes important research in the arena of child sexual abuse so that community knowledge can become a shared foundation for healing.

Our Kids Board, Staff and special friends appreciate the trust and generosity of the community. At Our Kids, it’s all about what’s best for each child and family. Click here for more about Our Kids’ Planned Giving Program and becoming a founding member of the Champions’ Circle.
